Au Pair in America is a safe, secure and legal cultural exchange program focused on childcare in the USA.  Au Pair in America was the first legal au pair program to be designated by the US Department of State in 1986, and for over 30 years, we have provided the best childcare opportunities to more than 4000 au pairs from around the world every year.

We are a division of the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS),  the leader in cultural exchange and educational programs since 1964, creating opportunities for more than 1.5 million students.

AIFS established the Au Pair in America program over 30 years ago, allowing young people the opportunity to experience the real America by living with an American host family, providing childcare, studying and learning about American culture. In addition to Au Pair in America, our programs include College Study Abroad, Camp America, gifted education and high school study/travel.
